Role Summary

Head of Production (Immersive Division)

Location: Preferred in European time zone but US / Canada / LATAM also works
Reports to: Managing Director, Immersive
Works closely with: CEO / Founder, EVP of Growth & Creative, ECD, Director of Technology, Finance / CFO

The Head of Production (HOP) is the execution and operational backbone of the Immersive Division, owning the transition from qualified opportunity → scoped proposal → production → delivery.

The HOP converts creative intent into clear scope, schedule, budget, risk plans, and resourcing across real-time content, CG/VFX, interactive/software, AV systems, fabrication, and installation.

Beyond delivery, this is a builder role responsible for designing the systems, standards, and content pipelines that enable the team to scale with excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Opportunity & Proposal Leadership

  • Take ownership of qualified opportunities from Sales / CEO

  • Translate creative direction into SOW, detailed budget, master schedule, staffing model, and risk register with mitigations

  • Partner with ECD on the story and presentation; own execution strategy (budget, schedule, delivery approach)

  • Confidently represent production strategy in client pitches and Q&A

Cross-Discipline Technical Fluency

  • Evaluate / challenge estimates across:
Unreal / Unity real-time, CG / VFX / animation, creative tech (sensors, tracking, show control), UI / UX & interactive workflows, fabrication / scenic, AV hardware / media servers / displays / lighting

  • Understand integration, QA, calibration / commissioning, deployment cycles

  • Maintain a vetted network of specialist vendors and integrators

Project Delivery & Leadership

  • Support Producers post-award; enforce scope, plan, quality, and timeline

  • Serve as escalation point for change orders, client dynamics, and risk issues

  • Maintain production forecasting, resourcing plans, and talent pipeline

  • Champion creative integrity and technical feasibility in balance

Operational Systems & Pipeline Development

Partner with the Managing Director to build scalable workflows for:

  • Estimation & scoping templates

  • Onboarding & kickoff checklists

  • Asset / content pipelines (CG ↔ real-time ↔ AV)

  • QA / testing / tech rehearsal procedures

  • Documentation, reporting, and ticketing standards

  • Installation & commissioning frameworks

Additional responsibilities:

  • Select and implement production software platforms (PM, resource planning, review / approvals, QA / test, dashboarding)

  • Create repeatable playbooks for immersive execution and continuous improvement

  • This person builds the machine, not just runs it.

Project Financial Leadership

  • Own budget models, burn forecasts, change orders, and weekly financial reporting cadence

  • Ensure MD / CFO have accurate, current, actionable visibility into project budgets, margin forecasts, utilization implications, and CO impact

  • Identify margin risk early and lead mitigation

  • Drive a culture of commercial discipline in estimating and delivery

  • Accountable for project financial accuracy; supports division P&L leadership

Job requirements

Your Journey

Experience

  • 12–18+ years total professional experience

  • 7–10+ years in senior production leadership roles within immersive, experiential, media, or integrated creative environments

  • Proven track record delivering large-scale, multidisciplinary immersive or interactive projects from proposal through installation

Core Capabilities

  • Deep expertise in production planning, budgeting, and scheduling across complex creative-tech ecosystems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams spanning creative, technical, and operational disciplines

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including forecasting, margin management, and change order control

  • Experience building and scaling production systems, workflows, and pipelines

  • High confidence presenting production strategies to clients and executive stakeholders

Technical & Industry Fluency

  • Familiarity with real-time engines, CG/VFX pipelines, interactive systems, AV infrastructure, and fabrication / installation workflows

  • Understanding of QA, commissioning, deployment cycles, and integrated technical environments

  • Established network of vendors, freelancers, or integrators is a strong plus

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution skills

  • Calm under pressure, solution-oriented, and decisive

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Culture carrier who balances creative ambition with technical realism

  • Builder mindset, someone who creates systems, not only manages outputs
