SHED is a design, animation and post-production studio located in Montreal, with over 20 years of experience. Their work is to breathe life into brands, thanks to captivating narratives and powerful visuals.
YOUR MISSION
As a System Administrator, you manage our technology fleet, computer systems, editing and finishing rooms, as well as all infrastructure including networks, servers, storage and virtualization solutions.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide high-level technical support to all users;
• Ensure proper functioning and updates of in-station software as well as editing and finishing rooms;
• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain all studio technical infrastructure to ensure system and security patches are up to date;
• Oversee and contribute to system documentation to keep it organized and up to date;
• Monitor new technologies (hardware, software, R&D);
• Manage budget and technical acquisitions (supplier relations, sourcing, negotiation and equipment purchasing).
Job requirements
WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE:
• Relevant IT education and/or equivalent professional experience;
• Experience in post-production and/or VFX (asset);
• Excellent knowledge of Linux (RedHat-based distros), Windows and MacOS;
• Excellent knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory;
• Excellent knowledge of virtual machines;
• Excellent knowledge of DNS, DHCP and LDAP;
• Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and technologies;
• Advanced network security and system hardening skills;
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes or Rez (asset);
• Strong command-line skills;
• Knowledge of ZFS systems;
• Knowledge of Linux deployment and management tools such as Kickstart/Yum, Puppet and Ansible.
